PALAK PANEER
(A Classic North Indian Vegetarian Dish)


INGREDIENTS:
  • Spinach (Palak) Leaves
  • Cottage Cheese (Paneer) Cubes
  • Cream
  • Ghee (Clarified butter)
  • Ginger (Cute Fine)
  • Green Chillies (Chopped)
  • Maize Flour (Make ka atta)
  • Onions (Chopped)
  • Red Chilli Powder Salt (To taste)
  • Tomatoes (Finely cut)
  • Water

METHOD:
  • Romove the stalks of the spinach leaves.
  • Wash very well & cut fine.
  • Add water & cook for 10 mins.
  • Drain the excess water & puree in blender
  • Add the paneer cubes to the puree & mix well.
  • Add msize flour slowly & cook for 10 mins
    (This acts as a thickening agent)
  • In a separatepan, heat the ghee.
  • Brown the onions & most of the ginger.
  • Add red chilli powder & stir.
  • Pour this sauce over the paneer-spinach mixture.
  • Stir well & cook through for 5 mins.



TO SERVE:
Garnish with the remaining pieces of ginger, tomato to pieces, green chillies & cream.Serve with green salad & naan.
